Look for named forms. Bisglycinate, malate, and citrate are chelates or organic salts with reasonable absorption. Ionic or sea-derived signals a trace mineral source. Oxide and sulfate are the cheap salts. If the label just says a mineral and a number with no form at all, you cannot tell what you are getting, and that ambiguity usually favors the cheaper option.
